House Extension in Fearn
Our clients for this project were looking for a new Sun Lounge that would provide an extra living space allowing them to enjoy the garden and maximise natural light. Bi-fold doors enable the room to be opened up in good weather and a wood burning stove transforms it into a cosy sitting room in the winter months.
The external walls are clad in grey Cedral fibre-cement boarding, that contrast with the render of the existing house. Velux roof windows have been strategically placed on one side of the extension to take in daylight, but limit unwanted solar gain. The placement of windows allows for the wood-burning stove and artwork to be positioned in the room and the focus remains on the glazed gable and views to the garden
This extension has already been enjoyed by our clients and their family, including being used for an impromptu ‘strip the willow’ dance during a Christmas gathering!
We think it makes a great addition to the house and has been built to a high standard by a local contractor who we regularly work with.
